This painting is about thinking. The thoughts that arise in the mind are drawn in the shape of stones. Sometimes they seem heavy, sometimes they form bizarre chains. They intersect, intertwine, become weightless. They form intricate staircases that lead upwards. They seem motionless and moving in space at the same time.
This evoked an association with Japanese gardens. Calm reflection and ordering of one’s thoughts. Thoughts are like a garden. The roots of the blooming Sakura tree ? the face ? connect what’s below with what’s above. Magical birds have inhabited this garden and are now observing.
We could characterize Polina’s style as metaphorical paintings, reflection maps. She is most interested in the themes of the connection between nature and man, balance and finding answers to questions. Mainly working with oil-acrylic techniques on canvas, paying attention to details and color combinations. Polina has exhibited internaitonally in cities like Moscow, Vienna and Berlin since 2008.
