Unlike all my other paintings, this one stands out in its dark theme and serene colors. That is because this is a piece I created when I was going through a very difficult time in my life. In early 2023, I was going through personal struggles, trying to and myself through the chaos of the world we live in. With that, I decided to put whatever I was feeling down onto a canvas. I had no reference images, no pre-defined color palette, but I knew I had a vision to paint what I felt. I started with a background and base colors that represented the current state of how I felt. Surrounding that, I placed some brighter flowers at the very center of the piece – including a small white lily, to portray a light of hope through all the darkness. The piece spoke to my collectors, and I sold the original artwork almost immediately after I had completed it! Till date, it is one of my most loved pieces in my portfolio and on my Instagram.
I want the viewer to resonate with it the way it has for me. In difficult times, I want it to bring a ray of hope and light into your life, seeing it hanging up on your wall everyday and give the viewer the hope it emanates.
Hi there! I’m Namira, and I am a contemporary abstract artist based in Dubai, U.A.E. My work mainly focuses on color perceptions, and the underlying theme in all of my work is flowers. I combine traditional painting techniques with contemporary abstract themes, creating a unique visual language that resonates not only with art lovers, but also flower enthusiasts. I love seeing happy people around me, and my studio’s mission is to boost serotonin levels with my colorful pieces and contribute to spreading that joy!
MY STORY IN A NUTSHELL
I am entirely self-taught in all mediums I work in, with many years of practice that helped me perfect my craft so I could hone my skills, keep evolving, and find my true artistic voice. In college, I decided to continue on a line of study which I could use to support my main passion. I kept my field of study as Business, obtaining a BBA, and then a Masters degree in Marketing. I wanted to become a fully self-sustained artist who knew how to market herself and her art – and that is how I started making art sales online in 2019.
